Committed to Hard Work and Honest Dealing

From a five-person operation in 1987 to more than 700 employees today, Tenaska is proud to serve our nation’s energy needs. We are a U.S. company, headquartered in Omaha and remain rooted in Nebraska, and our employees stay true to our founding values of hard work and honest dealing.

Over the past 35 years, Tenaska has earned a reputation for developing responsible energy projects and being a good business neighbor. We have developed, managed and/or operated approximately 22,000 megawatts of generating facilities.

True to our word

“Always live and act in ways in which you want to be remembered, because you will be remembered more for your character and your actions than for your career.”

A Culture of Ethics, Expertise and Entrepreneurship

At Tenaska, we’ve created a culture where our people are free to build the future of the energy industry on a decades-strong foundation of ethics, expertise and entrepreneurship. We understand that being a leader is about more than financial success — it’s about being a force for good in the communities where our people live and work.

Operating ethically is as important to our company’s leaders as providing outstanding service and value. That may explain why we have relationships with customers and partners that stretch back many years, even as the energy industry undergoes rapid and continuous evolution.

Our Commitment

Tenaska strives to be a good and responsible neighbor in communities where we work. Operating ethically is as important to our company’s leaders as providing outstanding service and value.

We cultivate long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with local leaders and residents built on respect, value and trust. Those bonds are formed during the planning and development process for our energy projects. Tenaska depends on those good working relationships and open dialogue with local leaders to help maximize the benefits to the community while ensuring our projects can be competitive businesses and stable employers for years to come.

We know that to be a good neighbor means following through on our word, and Tenaska instills in our employees and representatives that their conduct must adhere to the following principles:

Behave Ethically
Acting ethically means conducting ourselves so as to work safely, respectfully and with integrity at all times, adhering to company policies and complying with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Take Responsibility
All Tenaska personnel are responsible for knowing and doing what is right, helping others to do what is right and asking for guidance if the right course of action is unclear.
Stop and Think
We think about how our words and actions will impact others before speaking or doing. That way, what we say and do will always reflect Tenaska’s commitment to integrity. The ethical conduct of the company depends on the individual conduct of each employee and representative.

Going Above and Beyond

Tenaska strives to be a good and responsible neighbor in communities where our projects are located. We cultivate long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with local leaders, first responders and residents built on respect, value and trust. Those bonds are formed during the planning and development process for our energy projects. Tenaska depends on those good working relationships and open dialogue with local leaders to help maximize the benefits to the community while ensuring our projects can be competitive businesses and stable employers for years to come.

In addition to renewables development, Tenaska has grown to be a national leader adept in natural gas marketing, power marketing and energy management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and much more.
